The Elements
The Elements are: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. The 5 points of the pentagram correspond with this.
Earth
Earth is the element of life, we depend on the Earth for food and shelter. Earth is the most stable element, providing comfort to those who need it. The colours for Earth are green and brown. Those with a strong connection to the Earth have a strong connection to forests, and to the rythm of life itself. When working with Earth crystals, stones and plants are often used. Some deities of Earth are Pan, the horned god of the forests and woods, Gaia, the greek goddess of Earth, and Geb, the Egyptian Earth god.
Air
Air brings motion, change, like the breeze blowing away dust. Also the element of intellect and youth. The colours for air are yellow and white. An Air deity is Shu is the Egyptian god of air.
Fire
The element of strength, protection and passion, Fire helps to give the courage to face difficult tasks. Its colours are red and orange. Pele, Vesta, Hestia, Brigid, Agni, Hephaestos and Vulcan are all deities of Fire.
Water
Water is the element of common sense, purification and rebirth. Water can be unpredictable, and often shows half truths when used for scrying. Its colour is blue, and the some of the deities are Poseidon, Neptune and Corra.
Spirit
Spirit is the element of power, will, energy and everything. Not always invoked in rituals, as the deities, ourselves and the power we raise all represent it.
