So I've come across using herbs in spells in the book I am currently studying. I'm wondering how to go about this. Should I dry them, then burn them, or are there specific steps for each herb?

I would say it depends on the herb and what you want to use it for. 

Burning dried leaves with aromatic incense is something I have tried. 

But for less 'formal' spells I have found that using flower petals in season is a good way to make a meditation spell for spirit journeys. I have my own special flower which discovered me and I think everyone has to find there own or let the flower find you. Now I just sit by it in the woods and let it take me on a journey.

I also have found when using any herbs as long as you know thier purpose to you and to your spell and put them accross when communicating to the goddess, it will come across in your spell. Just be sure to be very clear. In your mind and your heart, if they aren't the same it wont work the right way.
