Rosewicket Wicca Coven

Okay, a little background to this one.  I was waiting at the grocery store for someone last night, and I started watching the people that were walking in and out.  I got bored and wrote this poem.  I don't know how good it is, but I feel like posting it so...  Here it is! 

Grocery Store Parking Lot

Old man

Sitting on a bench.

Sad, lonely, dirty

Close to tears

Looks longingly inside.

Young couple,

Arguing on the way in

Impatiently, selfishly fighting

Leading two young kids

Who both cringe away.

Young man, 

Chains on his neck,

Sagging pants, red bandanna

Selflessly, kindly,

Carrying groceries not his own.

Old couple,

Rusty station wagon,

Hand in hand,

Ageless love showing

As they walk in slowly, together.

Just simple observations, just everyday people,

Yet a summary of humanity.

I'll try to post some more stuff, when I find my notebook...  Notebook, notebook, where are you?...

I love it, very nice. It's got a warmth you don't see in a lot of poetry these days
