Merry Meet everybody,

Well, similar to a lot of people, my parents are insanely religious Christians. Uhmm....well, Wicca wouldn't sit well with them. I told my mom I'm obbsessed with candles and this book series called the House Of Night, and if you haven't read the series, I noticed some Wicca concepts in there.. So I told her that's what my candles are for.

Well, I turned a little footrest into a some-what altar. Candles and some crystals, but due to lack of resources, nothing else can be on there. I feel like it's not enough. Like, I'm half-way Wiccan. :/ Does that make sense???

Basically what I'm asking is does anyone have any advice on some things I could possibly add to my altar that wouldn't arrouse suspicion with my parents? Thanks!

Love & Light,

Basically just add to it whatever feels right. If you find something outside that you are exceptionally fond of, then bring it inside and set it on your altar, the Goddess will understand and cherish it just as much as an elaborate altar Also, I like to use incense sometimes, number one because I like it and number two because incense hold just as much meaning as a candle could and could be used for smudging away bad energies. . You dont need to have tons of things to be close to the Goddess and God, what you feel in your heart is enough :) Hope I was helpful...

Blessed Be!

Timmy is certainly right about what you can add. Do whatever feels right. Lack of resources mean nothign to the divine, they don't love you less if you have some tumbled crystals instead of a crystall ball and elaborate settings. I suggest taking things from nature (with permission) such as stones, old pinecones, leaves, ect. I would suggest collecting some rainwater to bless and adding some stones, seashells, or a dish of salt - but that's just personal taste. My altar feels bare without those things.

I do feel however that there might be deeper issues there, though. Havign a small altar shouldn't feel liek being "half Wiccan". Do not get too caught up in tools. When you depend on altars, wands, or the like, they detract from yoru spirituality rather than adding to it.
