Merry meet everyone!

I am currently searching for a cheap helpful book on wicca, and I am having the hardest time! I don't have any books on it it the nearest three libraries and I don't know any book stores that sell them. I am one of the few wiccans here, so there aren't many wicca shops here either. Does anyone know any shops in Leicester? Please help me.

Blessed be,

Angel

You can ask libraries to order in books for you, also if you have a waterstones nearby they sell books on Wicca. Also you could try eBay, there are always books listed on there and the secondhand ones are often pretty good prices.

"Wicca is life, its the dappled green light filtering through the leaves of an ancient forest, its the sunlight glistening on snowcapped mountains, its the fiery reds of autum, and the slumbering snails under the snows of winter. Wicca is in everything, we just need to open our eyes"

I'm kinda in the same position.  There's a Hastings about 30 miles away and they sell books on Wicca, so that's where I go.  Only problem is getting them past my parents...

usually "mind body and spirit" sections in bookstores are the best bets or Pagan/Wicca shops. Two of mine are specially for teenagers by Marina baker (I think) and one called "Witchin'".  Sometimes wiccan books can be really heavy and mind-bogging so always have a flick through before you buy~

as always I stand by Scott cunningham books all the way. There is an other popular at the moment, silver ravenwolf. I have to say I hate her work, I was given one as a gift and had to take it to the shop for exchange (my aunt ok'd this having read some herself), she's often trite, hypocritical and to quote one of my more favoured reviews

"Before performing all spells one should consult their divinatory vehicle not only to examine the outcome of your work, but to glean any extra information you should be aware of…For example, you wouldn't want to cast a spell for money and have your spouse or parents drop dead. (Page 178)

First of all, divinations reveal possibilities, not concrete outcomes. Anyone who becomes this dependent on divinations is a fool. Second, people do not drop over dead because you didn't correctly chant over a green candle (which is her standard money making spell). Can you fling fireballs from your fingertips as well, Ms. Ravenwolf?"

I agree with this, ravenwolf seems to have a classic case of what I have for years been refering to as "fireballs and flying broomstick syndrome".

I know she is popular with a lot of people, but i'd be careful and take a whole heap of salt with anything of hers you read. Anyone who is plugging religious tolerance one minute and basically accusing non Wiccans of being so thick they need "simple" tarot readings instead of normal ones is not someone you should trust to their word.
