Hi all,

Okay tonight at around 3am I was on facebook and I started hearing this horrible screeching sound coming from outside, believe me it wasn't just drunken chick screaming, this was pure horror the sound I heard. I looked outside up and down the street and there was noone there. I'm not saying that is was for definate a Banshee (though I believe it may have been), but I saw nothing and a neighbours dog started barking and the screeching just stopped. I've always been terrified of Banshees so I was rightly freaked out, and I'm possitive it wasn't just some cats fighting i know what that sounds like and this wasn't it. Weirder still my brother came home from a night out literally 2 minutes after it had stopped(I think the dog maybe have scared it) and I asked my brother if he'd heard it.....he hadn't. So i dunno am i going mad and just hearing thinks, I'm not so sure soo whats your opinions? In my opinion it was a banshee and if the legends are true it was warning me or something bad, specifically death ">>

Dang that sounds serious Moon maybe you should to a protection Ritual.

To be honest, it kind of depends on where you live. I have friends who live where horror-screaming-in-the-night-banshee-esque sounds are the norm just because people don't have regard for keeping the neighborhood quiet. If, however, this happened at my house, where such a thing is unheard of, I would be unsettled. It could be many things - don't let worry cloud your intuition. if you think that this may be a spirit or other force that you and the neighborhood dog (probably more sensetive to these things than most humans) caught on to somethign dark, feel free to protect yourself accordingly. If on the other hand, you really think you're just overreacting, then I would forget about it.

Well it's not uncommon to here drunken chicks screaming every now and then round here but the thing is this did not sound like that at all and it was repeated, same pitch to the scream each time and it lasted about a minute or two, I do believe it was a banshee but these creatures arn't known to harm the living, (unless as a story I've heard you steal from them fyi never pick up a comb off the ground if your here in Ireland.The story is that Banshees leave them around for humans to take, so that the Banshee can take your life energy, because you "stole" from them.Supersticion maybe but I'd rather be safe than sorry). They mourn the dead and are known in Irish folklore to warn a family, of the death of a relative, or just to warn of something negative that is to come. They are mourners of the death and messengers of the spiritworld I don't believe it would harm me anyway but they've always just freaked me out since I was younger stories I've heard about them lol but I'm sure it'll be alright, I was just kinda freaked out because I've never heard one before just heard stories. I find it kind of strange that I would here this creature on the day I achieved my black belt, I really hope this isn't a bad sign.
