Me and some friends of mine are looking for some good books on wicca that might be easier to understand. Mostly information on the past and present.

Why not scan some of the other threads? I'm pretty sure all the books that have already been listed or discussed are at a teen level, unless you aren't proficient in English, you should have no trouble understanding them. I have no idea where to look for translated version, though, in case you can't.

The community here is largely teen based and Pagan authors are geared towards clear, basic writing for young adults. You should have no problem, unless, again, english is not your first language.

Aileen,

You should definitely check out books by Kate West...

I think they are "The real witches handbook" and "The real witches year"

She's very good and to the point. Think she's also media director of the British Pagan society and a High Priestess!

=)

"Confessions of a Teenage Witch" by Gwinevere Rain, Was one I enjoyed, and the first time I ever really indulged myself in the craft. If you are into a little more advanced stuff, I just finished "Magickal Self Defence" by Kerr Cuhulain, which is all about dealing with mental attacks in a non agressive manner. I also talks about Wicca in terms of quantam physics, pretty interesting stuff.

Wow these sound good. definatly on my list to check out, because I'm thinking about going to our public library and seeing if they have any books on wicca, thank goodness they have computers that tell you where all the books are, it would be werid going up to the librarian asking where they are.

Scott Cunningham and Raymond Buckland are also good - especially if you're solitary. Gerald gardener is credited with founding Wicca, but his books may be a bit more advanced and thee practices are more rigid.
