Its always a good idea to get a basic covering in a few areas to start off with, as victoria said books are a good place to start, pick out one or two that cover several areas and are aimed at people new to wicca, and take some time with reading them, work through each section slowly, make notes if that will help, give yourself a sturdy foundation of knowledge to build on. Websites are of course a free source of information, although you should be careful, there are many with misleading information, if you are uncertain about anything you can always ask on here.

Wicca is in everything, we just need to open our eyes" ~~~~~~~~~max sig size~~~~~~~~~

Collect some books and websites that you are interested in, and start reading. Don't take on too much at first - and take everything you read with a grain of salt, and use your common sense (lots of people forget this one!). Also, I would try your hand at meditating. It's a very simple way to relax and reach the divine, or accomplish many other things (it's healthy too). And third, start getting close to nature. Take longs walks, sit in the park; and if you live near a forest or river, take a while to sit and feel what the earth is telling you. And, once you have gotten through your books, try some of what they suggest. Perhaps you can use what they have listed to help you in your first ritual or connecting with the Goddess and the God.
Don't forget to ask questions as you go, you may do so here or elsewhere on the net, or maybe find a local new age shop where you can ask elders for advice.
and above all, do what works for you.

If you have a random thought, it's normal - especially at first, just push it away and go back to whatever it is you were meditating about before. Thoughts have a tendency to invade, just let them drift by like clouds. It's very difficult to meditate about total nothingness for some people, especially beginners. I'm sure if you give your mind something to do, such as a visualizing meditation you'll have more success. You can find some tips, ideas, and good meditations on the Meditation Thread.
