I  am very new to wicca and feel that I am following the right path. I have already made so many positive decisions since completing my dedication ritual. I actually started back to college after 10 years this month. However, with school and children, I am having a hard time juggling everything. I really want to make a time in my day for a daily ritual or daily devotion. Not really sure what its called. I haven't had an opportunity or the funds to purchase any books on the subject. Is there any advice or suggestions as to a simple daily ritual? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest you make up your own ritual, at least once you get the hang of them. If you're going to do a ritual everyday, be sure it is simple - don't let a ritual drain you too much or make it impossible, then it would defeat the point. I personaly meditate each day, and do something to empower myself duriing that, since I can't do a full ritual for the time being (moving). Modify any ritual as needed to fit you.

I do a daily dovotion in the morning to get a sense of direction for the day. Such as prayer to improve personally before I go out into the world - such as asking for assistance with maybe my attitude. I also pray for others and things in the world. Sometimes I may ask for help in the same area several days in a row if I don't feel like I have made sigificant improvement or see myself sliding back.

I like to meditate at the end of the day as it helps me relax and release all the stuff I have absorbed during the day - kind of downloading it somewhere else.

I don't cast a circle for either of these or consider it a ritual. I simply light a candle and/or insence to assist me. Sometimes I hold specific gems/stones to help me focus or even a specific tarot card or the entire deck. It just all depends. My morning dovotion usually does not go beyond 10-minutes. My meditation is about 30 minutes in total at night and that is another reason I chose to do it at night because I have more time.

Really it is what you feel comfortable with. There are days I don't have time or make time for either or I just do one or the other. Sometimes I feel bad about it but that is not constructive. I just pick up where I left off when I have the time.

In the summer or during days with nice weather, I like to go out in my back yard and sit on the grass and do my dovotion. I love to ground and charge next  to the soil.

Do what feels right to you. Write your own daily dovotion when you get a chance. I try to write in my journal about my dovotion everytime I do one just so I can look back and revisit where I have been and how far I have come.

Sharene - Thank you - Life can be hectic enough and I am sure the higher powers don't want to make it more difficult - keep it simple so that you get enjoyment and fulfullment out of it - otherwise it just becomes another task and that is not how we want to feel about it or act on it.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday. Slow down and enjoy the moment.

Yeah, I use work to escape life too! Now I just need to find a job! I have been taking my time and doing alot of filtering. I feel like I am getting closer to the "door" that is about to open so I need to get on the ball. I am a Transportation/ Callcenter Manager and there are not that many jobs "like" that out there. So I decided to make the circle a little wider and see what I can catch. Maybe a little dovotion on that one!
