FRENCH OCCULTISTS OF THE PAST

Are you interested in French occulism? Three occultists you should study are:

Antoine Court de Gebelin (c. 1719-1784). He is an intellectual founder of modern occultism. He died in an electrical experiment with Mesmer (an early pioneer of hypnotism). You can read about Court de Gebelin by clicking here.

"Etteilla" (1738-1791), whose real name was Jean-Baptiste Alliette, believed occult knowledge was transmitted from ancient Egypt. He explore the Tarot, and many consider him the first professional Tarotist. You can read about Etteilla by clicking here.

Eliphas Levi (1810-1875), whose real name was Alphonse-Louis Constant, rivived occult practices, and many consider him the father of modern magic. You can read about Eliphas Levi by clicking here

.

You can find more about French occultism at the Tarot Forum: www.tarotforum.webs.com -- Stephen Contrado, B.A., Th.M.

I really appreciate you giving information in a specialized area - one many of our members may not know much about - but this seems to be a lot of self advertizement.

I see no problem with trying to get some extra views and members in your websites, but we do have a seperate section of our forum for that. I suggest if you want people to visit your website, that you post in teh forums boards, you will probably get noticed faster there.

Hi Tarotforum - I read your post and found it interesting and think it will provide people young on their path with a little history lesson. I do wish you would have chosen a more personal type of name but look forward to seeing you around.
