I'm looking for a recipe for a Protection Powder that you can carry on your person in a satchel.

If anyone has any recipes or ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

well, I don't have spells specifically for protection powder, but you might try grinding up the following herbs:

-Cloves

-Sage

-Rosemary

-Gum Arabic

-African Violet

-Anise Seed

-Ash

-Hawthorne

-Hazel

-Ivy

-Juniper

(The first of the three have been the most effective in my experience)

To name a few.

I would also suggest sandalwood incense, or honeysuckle. Anything corresponding to the Sun or Mars is usually good for protection. For making powders, I usually meditate while burning incense and then add the ashes to the powder.

Also, never forget the good of salt! It's great for keeping away negativity and protecting you from bad energy.

If you want to use crystals (as I often let crystals sit in herbal powder) try Citrine (for dispelling bad energy) or hemetite (for absorbing and banishing bad energy). Dark stones can also be used as a substiute for hematite.

If you are calling on the Goddess for protection, you can use more femenine elements, like lavender, jasmine, rose, and so on. Moonstone is also great, I have a bit of it set in my pentacle, which I often empower for protection-and it has never failed me!
